Picking a Silence Limit
30, 60 or 90 days. How to choose how long a silence has to last before it means something.

A check-in is one question from your dot: are you still here. It comes as a message in the app chat and waits there until you open the app.
Any answer counts. A reply to your dot in the chat, of any wording. Or pressing Check in on the vault. Each one sets the clock back to the full limit.

“One missed message moves nothing. Only the whole limit passing does.”

A check-in costs nothing and signs nothing. It does not move funds and it does not change the beneficiary. All it changes is the time left.
Missing a check-in does not move the vault. Nothing happens on a single unanswered message. The clock simply keeps running from your last answer.
What does move the vault is the whole limit passing in silence: 30, 60 or 90 days from your last answer, with none in between.

From the lock to the handover: the four choices you make, the one thing you keep doing, and what happens if you stop.

One address per vault, no access while the clock runs, and the whole vault once the limit has passed.
